What are Primary Industries?
Primary Industries produce the raw materials or natural resources that are eventually manufactured (made) into finished products. Remember in previous lessons we talked about how a pencil is made. The Primary Industry in the making of a pencil would be Forestry. Companies cut down the tree, which is a raw material, to take it to another location to cut the wood up.
Primary Industries are suited for Canada because of ALL of the natural resources and raw materials we have.
